The word NewsPro is a portmanteau of News and In Progress. This name was chosen to emphasize that this news site offers the most current news stories as they are happening.
NewsPro is a news site which was launched in March of 2014. This news site is run by a civil activists, along with the voluntary participation of dedicated professional translators. With the current state of freedom of speech in South Korea being largely compromised, due to the tight governmental control over the mainstream media outlets, NewsPro has emerged as an up-and-coming leader in alternative journalism. This site translates foreign articles relating to South Korean affairs and distributes them to the people both in South Korea and abroad.
By translating and distributing foreign articles on political and social matters in South Korea, NewsPro is able to give their readers the opportunity to learn through unbiased and uncensored journalism.The translations are done with strict adherence to the rules of professional translation offering the entire article whenever possible. The readers can benefit and easily attain the substance of these articles by reading entire texts without losing the original essence or meaning.In addition, selected Korean news articles of significance are translated by our team into English and other foreign languages and distributed to the international community. The goal of distributing articles to global readers is so that the rest of the world gets an uncensored view into the political and social struggles that South Koreans are facing. With their efforts NewsPro hopes that the international community will become aware of the state of affairs in South Korea.
NewsPro currently has staff translators in English, Japanese, Chinese, French, German and Russian. The staff writers also provide their readers with their own news analysis in an effort to offer diverse viewpoints. The team at NewsPro sincerely wishes that their contributions will ultimately lead to the making of a stronger, more transparent, and healthier democratic South Korean society.
