샌프란시스코 노동위원회, 세월호 1주기 결의문 채택
– 사망자 애도 및 철저한 진상조사와 세월호 인양 촉구
– 전 세계 연대 조직들과 뜻 모아 세월호 가족 지지할 것

샌프란시스코 노동위원회는 세월호 참사 1주기를 맞아 세월호 참사와 사망자를 기념하기 위한 결의문을 채택하고 한국의 규제 완화 정책과 박근혜 대통령의 직무유기 및 세월호 가족들에 대한 탄압을 강력히 규탄했다.

샌프란시스코 노동위원회는 4월 18일 노동자 추모일과 공동으로 세월호 1주기를 기념하는 행진과 기념식을 개최할 것이라고 말하고 안전 보호의 문제는 한국뿐만 아니라 미국의 노동자에게도 중요하다고 강조했다.

결의문에서 샌프란시스코 노동위원회는 독립된 위원회의 철저한 진상 조사, 책임자 처벌과 세월호 인양을 촉구하는 한편, 한국 정부에 서한을 보낼 것이라고 말하며 세월호 가족에 대한 지지와 다른 조직들과의 연대 지지를 거듭 표명했다.

Resolution For Workers Memorial Day, Against TPP and On The Anniversary Of Korea Sewol Sinking And Deaths

노동자 추모일, 환태평양경제동반자협정 반대, 그리고 한국 세월호 참사와 사망자 1주기 기념 결의문

Whereas on April 16, 2014, the Korean Sewol Ferry capsized with the loss of over 300 mostly young students and,

2014년 4월 16일 한국 세월호가 전복되며 대부분이 학생들이었던 300여 명이 목숨을 잃었다.

Whereas, the families were initially told that all their children had been evacuated and whereas,
The government refuses to salvage and raise the vessel to make a complete investigation and,

가족들은 처음에 학생들이 모두 대피했다는 보고를 들었고 정부는 온전한 조사를 위해 배를 인양하기를 거부하고 있다.

Whereas as a result of deregulation and the policies of the IMF/WB, KORUS FTA and the proposed Trans Pacific Partnership TPP there has been the casualization of workers with the growth of over 50% of temporary workers in Korea and,

국제통화기금/세계은행/한미 FTA 규제 완화와 정책들, 그리고 제안된 환태평양경제동반자협정의 결과로서 한국 임시직 노동자들의 50% 이상의 증가와 더불어 노동자의 임시직으로의 전환이 있었다.

Whereas, these anti-labor union, busting policies led to the crew of the Sewol Ferry being all temporary workers including the Captain who was on a one year contract and,

반 노조 정책은 1년 계약직이었던 선장을 비롯해 세월호 선원들이 모두 임시직이었던 결과를 가져왔다.

Whereas these temporary workers were not properly trained by the owner Chonghaejin Marine and were unable to safely protect their passengers and the crew and,

임시직 노동자들은 소유주인 청해진해운으로부터 적절한 훈련도 받지 않아 승객과 승무원들을 안전하게 보호할 능력도 없었다.

Whereas, this deregulation and these anti-labor policies led to the SEWOL workers being unable to join and build a union and,

Whereas, the Sewol families have faced harassment and discrimination by the Korean Park government for attempting to get the truth out about this incident and,

세월호 가족들은 참사에 대해 진실을 밝히고자 하는 시도를 한다는 이유로 박근혜 정부로부터 탄압과 차별을 당해 왔다.

Whereas, the government deregulation allowed a complete failure of health and safety training for the crew leading to the failure to protect both the passengers and crew and,

정부의 규제 완화는 승무원들에 대한 보건 및 안전 훈련이 완전히 실패하도록 했고 이로 인해 승객들과 승무원들은 보호를 받지 못했다.

Whereas, President Park Geun-Hye violated her constitutional responsibility and presidential duty to protect the safety and lives of the people and,

박근혜 대통령은 국민의 안전과 생명을 보호할 자신의 헌법적 책임과 대통령의 의무를 위반했다.

Whereas, these issues of health and safety protection in maritime and all transportation are critical not only to Korean workers but US workers,

해양 및 모든 교통 수송에서의 보건과 안전 보호의 문제들은 한국뿐만 아니라 미국의 노동자들에게도 중요하다.

Whereas on April 16, 2015 will be the one year anniversary and there will be a march and commemoration of this event in conjunction with Workers Memorial Day on Saturday April 18, 2015 at ILWU Local 34 and,

2015년 4월 16일은 1주기이며, 4월 18일 토요일 국제항만-창고 노동자 조합 지부 34에서 노동자 추모일과 공동으로 행진과 기념식이 개최될 것이다.

Whereas, the need to protect health and safety for workers and to protect injured workers who have faced deregulation of workers comp in California which is threatening their right to healthcare and compensation and,

노동자들의 건강과 안전을 도모하고 의료보험과 보상의 권리를 위협하는 캘리포니아에서 산업재해보상 폐지에 직면한 상해 입은 노동자들을 보호해야 할 필요성이 있고,

Whereas, April 18, 2015 has also been declared a day of national action against the Transpacific Partnership which threatens labor, human and environmental right in the Pacific Rims,

2015년 4월 18일은 환태평양 지역의 노동권, 인권 및 환경권을 위협하는 환태평양경제동반자협정에 반대하는 전국적 행동의 날로 이미 선언된 바 있다.

Therefore be it resolved the San Francisco Labor Council supports the demands of the Korean Sewol Mothers and their families for:

따라서 샌프란시스코 노동위원회는 한국 세월호 어머니들과 가족들의 요구를 다음과 같이 지지할 것을 결의한다:

• A thorough investigation into this disaster should be performed immediately by an independent counsel in order to disclose all irregularities on the ferry

세월호와 관련된 모든 부조리를 밝히기 위해 이 참사에 대한 철저한 조사가 독립된 위원회에 의해 즉각적으로 이행되어야 한다.

• All responsible people in the disaster should be identified and properly punished and the lifting of the entire ferry so that there can be a full investigation of the causes of the accident and,

이 참사와 관련된 모든 책임자들이 밝혀지고 적절히 처벌되어야 하며, 사건 원인에 대한 완전한 조사가 될 수 있도록 온전한 세월호 인양이 이루어져야 한다.

This council will endorse the Workers Memorial Day event on April 18 which will include the need to oppose the Trans Pacific Partnership TPP which is being put on fast track for passage,

And this council urges all affiliated bodies to join the march starting at Harry Bridges Plaza on the Embarcadero at 11:00 AM on April 18th and marching to ILWU Local 34 for a memorial meeting at 1;00 PM and,

Finally this Council supports their call for justice and send a letter to the Korean government to support their campaign and will seek concurrence by all other affiliated bodies.
